Insurance services available

  • Airside Public & Aviation Products Liability

We consider cover specifically for businesses working airside or within the aviation sector, including manufacturers and distributors supplying products to the aviation industry.

In the UK, some insurers will extend cover under a standard Public/Products Liability policy to include this additional exposure or a separate airside liability policy can also be arranged to provide adequate insurance cover. We have access to an Airside Public and Aviation Products Liability wording, including cover for the use of vehicles, underwritten by AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited.

Cover is not restricted to UK airports or any one airport authority/operator, but our appetite is for UK domiciled companies only. Cover excludes activities in the USA and Canada, although cover can be extended by way of a tailor-made policy to cover these countries.

Limits of up to £100,000,000 are available, on either a short-term basis or on an annual basis. General policy conditions do apply, but insurers offer the option to buy back cover for excludes losses arising from war and allied perils, and personal injury.

Many airport operators require contractors to have their own airside liability cover (or are requesting higher limits than in the past). Purchasing this insurance cover will mean that your clients can operate airside and while protecting themselves at the same time.

Insurance that covers...

  • Contractors working airside (limits up to £100m available)
  • Aviation product manufacturers (limits up to £50m available)
  • Infrastructure maintenance (excluding Air-Traffic Control / Control Tower software)
  • Construction
  • Delivery involving airside access
  • Cleaning
  • Aircraft cleaning
  • Security (including pass and baggage screening)
  • Ground Handlers
  • Refuellers

Product insights

“Most liability insurers will exclude cover for airside works as standard – a separate policy is often required to provide the limits of indemnity required by airport authorities.”

Product insights

“A risk that general aviation owners and operators need to consider relates to taking motor cars “airside.” In the UK, it is usual for a standard motor policy to exclude cover while a vehicle is 'airside'.”

Product insights

“Although Airside Liability wordings are standardized across the market, we offer excellent service and competitive commission levels, back up by AA rated (S+P) insurer, AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited”
